Match the status to the problem

  • First payout: Stripe generally describes a 7–14 day initial wait, with timing affected by country and risk. Use your account’s estimate. First payout guidance
  • Outstanding account requirements: missing tax or other requested information can pause payouts. Complete the items shown for your account. Account requirements
  • Reserve: part of the balance is set aside for potential refunds or disputes. Read the percentage, duration and conditions in your notice. How reserves work
  • Sent but missing: check the payout destination and expected arrival date. If it has not arrived after five business days, Stripe directs you to contact your bank with the payout details and trace ID. Missing payout guidance

Create a concise support record

  1. Record the exact status

Save the payout or payment identifier, amount, currency, expected date and the wording of the notice. Keep a dated record of the latest account update.

  2. Answer the actual request

Review your Dashboard and email for outstanding information. Submit the requested material through the indicated account flow. Stripe troubleshooting

  3. Ask for a specific next step

Ask which requirement remains unresolved, whether the case is awaiting your action and where the next update will appear. Include the existing case reference.

  4. Keep the bank trace separate

If the bank cannot find a sent payout, obtain written confirmation and follow Stripe’s escalation route for your account type. Some connected accounts must go through their platform. Escalation by account type

Read reserve dates carefully

Stripe’s Express reserve guidance describes a review before expiry and says reserves can be extended. Where an appeal is available, the option appears in the reserve notification. Follow the notice that applies to your account instead of treating a general example as a guaranteed release date. Stripe Express reserve FAQ

Plan future payment collection separately

A new checkout should be evaluated for future sales while the existing Stripe case continues through Stripe or your platform. Whop also uses reserves, so review cash availability alongside features and cost. Whop reserve policy

If you are evaluating Whop for future payments, use the WhopDFY audit to review the setup. An audit is not a way to release funds controlled by Stripe.

Common questions

Are paused payouts the same as blocked payments?

No. Stripe Express distinguishes receiving payments from transferring funds out; a payout pause may still allow incoming payments. Check both statuses. Stripe Express payout statuses

Will changing my bank details redirect a payout already sent?

No. Stripe says a payout initiated before the change goes to the previous bank account. Payout destination guidance

Can a reserve be extended?

Yes. Stripe’s Express guidance allows extension following a risk review. Use your account notice for the relevant terms. Reserve review guidance

Can WhopDFY guarantee a release date?

No. Keep release questions with Stripe or the platform responsible for your Stripe account and rely on their case-specific response.
